A calculator with history, voice input and money tools
Abacus shows the answer while you type the whole sum, and keeps a history of past calculations you can label. It also has VAT, interest, percentage, tip and unit conversion tools, which suits everyday sums, quotes and household budgets.

There is no account and no sync: history and settings are saved on the device, and the Apple Watch app runs on its own.
You type the whole sum, and the result sits under it, updating with every key. Unclosed brackets are closed for you when you press equals, so a half-finished line still works.

Every sum you finish is saved to a history list on the device. Long-press an entry to copy the result or the equation, or give it a coloured label so you can find it later.

The VAT tool adds tax to a price or takes it out of a total, and shows net, tax and gross amounts together. The rate starts at 10%, which matches Australian GST, and you can change it. The interest tool works out simple or compound interest over years or months.

The percentage tool covers the three questions people ask most: what is X% of a number, what percentage one number is of another, and how much a value has changed. Results update as you type.

The converter covers nine categories, from length and mass to data sizes and energy, with a button to swap the two units. The same menu has a tip calculator that splits the bill between any number of people.

The fx button slides in an extra set of keys for trigonometry, logs, powers and roots. Angles can be in degrees or radians.
